Exploring the Regenerative Ag Toolbox for Viticulture

Grapegrowing Breakout Session

Regenerative agriculture is popular with farmers — from crops and livestock to orchards and vineyards — because it’s improving soil and plant health by following agro-ecological principles and yet remains flexible in its use of organic and synthetic inputs. Carbon farming is another way of describing the importance of soil organic matter, biodiversity, and the soil microbial community with its attendant ecosystem services.

This session will explore the regen ag toolbox for viticulture: cover crops, compost, sheep, and poultry gazing, activated biochar, bokashi, farm-made bio-fertilizers, and holistic soil and sap testing coupled with foliar fertilization and fertigation blends that aim for both soil fertility and pest control.
